a few more pics are up on flickr!
I'm working on more!
I'm using my blog as a way to talk about things OTHER than ministry.
Which is unfortunate because amazing things are happening, but I wouldn't do any other it justice if I attempted to put it into words...especially when I only have short intervals of time to do anything extra.
But
Angella sent me these 5 questions to answer, so I thought I would
appease her!
1. Assuming calories don't count, what is your favourite - a salty or
sweet treat?
Calories never count when I'm in the mood for a snack. But I usually go for the sweeties. I have a very soft spot for sour candies, the more sour the better....sour keys are probably my
fav. Here in Australasia, it doesn't appear that they believe in sour candy and have a lot of false advertising. I'm going through some serious
withdrawl. I even got my mom to send me some for
christmas...but she sent the sweet ones and not the sour ones. Oh well, they'll taste even better when I get home and eat all of Costco's supply!
2. What do you want to be when you grow up, and where will you be?
I don't know at what point you are actually grown up,
lol!I often say I have
ADHD when it comes to life. I can't seem to do something for more than a few months before I'm ready to move onto the next thing. There are only a couple things I want to have happen for sure. I want to travel A LOT more, and I want to get married and make lots of babies. As for a career, I don't see myself having one career...I want to do everything.
3. What do you do when
nobody's looking?
Obviously, I do those things when
nobody's looking for a reason...kidding.The only thing I can think of is showering...at least I hope no one's looking.
4. If you could go back in time, would you change anything you've done?
I've had a few less than stellar moments, but I don't regret anything I've done because I know I can't take those things back. All I can do is learn from them and do my best to keep those situations from happening again.
5. If you could be a celebrity for the day, who would you be and why?
Angelina Jolie, no kidding...I think everyone saw that one coming.
Ok, when I was a little girl, and even now, I had a few ideas as to what I wanted to do. I wanted to have many many kids, have each one in a different country, and adopt a few. I wanted to see the world and help out with the problems it has.So, when Angelina Jolie 'turned good', she started to personify all the things I had wanted to do with my life. So that's why I look up to her so much.
And the other night, us girls had a girls night and the end result was us giving each other a detailed list of what our future husbands would be like. But you weren't allowed any input on your own....I was pretty happy with my end result!

I'M ALIVE!
things are still crazy here! Hopefully, I'll have more time to tell you all when I get to Bali.
We've been going non-stop and it's so much fun!
we leave for bali on may 1.
and that's all I have time for.
yay for cheap internet!
So we've been in
Jcity for over a week now, and it's been nothing short of amazing!
People stare at us like they've never seen white people before...which they probably haven't.
We spent this last week in
Kelapa Gading, an area in North Jcity with a church called
CWS. These guys are on the richer side of the scale so we've been taken care of and really blessed by them.
The first few days were getting
acquainted with the area and people, doing prayer walks and bonding as a team. Our first day off was spent in the mountains at a little villa (that had a pool!!!), and we ate so much food! Then we went to the
Tamen Safari, and I got to ride an elephant, pet a tiger, and hold a leopard...scratch 3 things off my List of Things to do Before I Die.
Then our whole team got food poisoning.
Fun.
We were all
vomiting and had serious
diarrhea. Four people were hospitalized. First, in the most ghetto hospital ever seen, then they were moved to another hotel...I mean hospital. Everyone was jumping at the opportunity to stay with them at the second hospital cause the word got out that there were piping hot showers. And after having to shower in the hose...a hot shower is heaven.
If our team thought we were close before, we're family now. In fact, we're more open with each other's bodily functions than my actual family is!
Thank God I didn't get as sick as the rest of them, but I have heavy mudslides at least once a day and I still can't smell Indonesian food without getting a little
nauseous. Our hosts have caught on to this when we eat nothing but plain rice at dinner, so they've been taking us to other types of restaurants. Like American
Grill...hallelujah for salad bars, I swear this country doesn't know what a salad is.
We've been doing a lot of ministry too. This week alone we've seen over 20
salvations and multiple
re dedications. Ben, Christine, Chris and I got to pray for this guy who couldn't walk because he had a sore foot, and it was instantly healed!
Things are happening through me that I never thought was able to. Some of the people on my team our so spiritual when those things happen, like "the Holy Spirit really showed up!" and I'm just standing there, looking at my hand going "Holy shit....did that just happen???"
lol!
This is obviously quite the learning experience for me, but it's so awesome!
I can't remember if I said this before. But the day we left for Jcity we found out it's the next
MC. The
MC ministry is when a city is decided as the focus of all teams for a year. Last year it was Cairo, Egypt. Basically every outreach team goes to that city and they see huge revival! We're Lab Rats!!! holy lots of pressure batman! We're the first team from Perth to set foot in this city and we're preparing the way for next year's teams!
I miss everyone even more now!

Brain. dead.
must. post.
so. tired...
We got our plane tickets for Jcity. We leave next Thursday around 8pm. So Wednesday 3am for you North Americans. Our flight is only 4 hours, which is kinda unfortunate....I was looking forward to another long flight, but I'm sure my flight home will make up for it!
It's been a while since I last posted, and I apologize to those of you who emailed me and I didn't get back to...which was pretty much everyone. My brain has not been functioning at full capacity, which isn't uncommon considering we only use about 10%, but I feel like I'm only using .01%.
We've been having some great teaching the last couple weeks. And this week, so far, has been one of the best. We have Kristen, another Kiwi, speaking to us about Faith/Obedience/Holy Spirit. It's fitting that he's our one of our last speakers because he is just getting us all fired up for outreach and prophesying over us with crazy things...it's awesome! He hasn't told me anything yet, but the week isn't over.
IWT is going strong. This is the 4th week and the last I heard about 1100 people have been saved, which is so awesome! Island breeze is by far my favourite. I'd post pictures, but blogger won't let me do anymore. I'll put them on my Flickr.
Last weekend, we weren't on for IWT so some of us took a much needed break from base. We were only here to sleep and spent the rest of the time at the beach, Adventure World, getting bubble tea, and walking around the city. It was one of the best weekends I've had here.
The October schools got back a couple weeks ago and told us about their outreach. God did incredible things and it makes me really excited for ours. These are normal people doing abnormal things, it's totally crazy cool!
Our commissioning breakfast is on monday. This is especially exciting because it means the end of work duties, yay! But it also means that we need to get ready and pack and clean and be stressed out because outreach is in a WEEK!
I'm sick...still/again. I'm going to the doctor's today to get meds. Yay.
ahhh....there's other things I wanted to mention, but I forget. It's still early.
12km Walkathon

In order for some people to raise much needed funds, and for us to bond as an outreach team, we had a 12k
walkathon last night. I, however, did not know that it was going to be 12k...and wasn't really prepared for what that meant.
Luckily, I've had some
recent training in walking LONG distances, and barely broke a sweat...except when we sprinted the last bit of our walk because we wanted to beat the India team.
All in all, it took us about 3 hours and we were one of the first back, much to the pride of the guys in our group. These guys are crazy, we've nicknamed them the 'Energizer bunnies'. Seriously, they just keep going, and going, and going...
At one point, they pretended to shop for groceries and make a turkey dinner. That episode lasted about 30
minutes, and ended with our leader giving all authority to the girls for the time we're on outreach.
*Update!
I just found myself in one of the videos! I'm cutting the life out of my hamburger, lol!
Which one was it?
A while ago I posted about the videos of our school the base has been putting up on our website. They took ours down but I found them all!!
Go
HERE and click on reports on the left hand side to watch them!
ENJOY!!
